This version of Carbon Combat is the official "bug squasher" release and manages to squash about 75% of the bugs and random glitches you've reported to me! (there were over 50 different bug reports over the past month). I'm still working on the rest and adding some really awesome new features that I'm sure you'll love. Also, the official forum is now open to the public, so be sure to join and post away!

Change Log
- Braking systems now are physics based (you can't stop in mid-air anymore)
- Bots are more intelligent and shoot randomly instead of right at you depending on the number currently pursuing you
- Bots can now shoot you underwater
- Gun no longer freezes if you are aiming at someone and they disconnect
- Server list now has a game type slot
- Joining server function now re-attempts automatically
- Server list now has alternating background rows
- Gun no longer disappears when switching servers
- Cars should be less laggy over the network and much more responsive
- Driving forwards is slower than driving backwards
- Rockets and lasers now do double damage
- Driving over the terrain now does a lot less damage
And more that I can't recall...

This is yet another one of my creations: an old barn in the middle of an abanoned field. This is what I call an "environment demo" where the models and overall ambience of the scene is featured (instead of some fancy programming stuff :P). The barn was 100% made by me (including the textures). Below are some stats and the demo link powered by UniEmbed.
I'm working furiously on Carbon Combat and I just wanted to share with you the latest update. This version includes many of the features you've probably been anticipating as well as numerous bug fixes (thank you to all the people who sent me bug reports :D). Some of the major features include an in-game GUI facelift designed to maximize screen real-estate while maintaining the same functionality, and a game round system with individual player scores! Below is more or less what was changed from the last version:

Version Change-Log
- Sleek new sliding and hiding GUI to maximize screen space
- New rounds system that supports team-deathmatch battles
- New hover and chat feature; allows you to chat and hover at the same time (hold down space and then press enter to use)
- Fixed the lasers not doing damage to opponents
- Improved laser collision detection (lasers don't go through objects anymore)
- Fixed cloaking enabling and disabling glitch
- Fixed fire while switching weapons glitch
- Fixed smoke particle shader (now blends correctly with world fog)
- Fixed rocket smoke particles (now dissipates into the air nicely - thanks Christian4Mac!)
- Fixed guest name glitches for chat and badges

Video
A quick demo video showcasing the new and improved GUI and game scoring (game time purposely set to 50 seconds for demonstration).
Specs
Weight: ~500 pounds (0.25 tons)
Top Speed: ~65 mph on bumpy terrain
Armament: None at the moment (will carry light to moderate gauge weapons in CC)
Dimensions: 2.1m by 1.3m by 3m

Information
With dual shocks on each wheel system, this vehicle is designed to provide maximum agility and stability over bumpy terrain. Its independent steering system enables it to make quick turns rendering it highly maneuverable. Due to it's relatively small size and build, the buggy is only able to carry smaller armaments (light machine guns, mini-missiles, flares, etc.).

Carbon Combat beta 1.2 is now available for download! It has some major stability upgrades and bug fixes and includes a first-person-shooter mode for the car. In order to use FPS mode, hold down shift. FPS mode makes the rockets and lasers a lot more accurate than before so you can now "snipe" people with your laser. Rain sound FX was also added for rain variation maps. Enjoy!
After testing Carbon Combat extensively over the past few days I decided to work on it's world variation system. Basically the system allows you to choose between number of settings to play the world in - sunny, overcast, sunset, etc. One of the cool features is that some variations such as overcast support rain. If you turn your quality all the way up to beautiful and fantastic you'll notice that the rain droplets splash against the bases, the terrain and even your car. In order to use the new world variation system, just click on the second field next to the "Start Server" button in the menu. I hope you enjoy this update!
I have recommenced work on Carbon Combat. During the time of this update and the last I have learned a great deal in terms of optimization and creating game-optimized models. Today I did some major optimization work on Carbon Combat as well as a full three hour lightmap bake. This is the first beta in what should be a month of fast paced updates!

I have decided that it is easier (and less laggy) for people to download the standalone player. I will continue to update the webplayer at play.carbontechsoftware.com, but it may not always be the most up-to-date.
Basically, the general idea of this project is to offer live streamed images from the web (such as this blog, Mars Explorer, or the news) and display them in different movie theater rooms. You will be able to walk around the theaters or sit down and watch the slideshow.

Progress
After much experimentation over the past few days, I managed to get the lightmap settings just right for the theater. I am still working on adding speakers, ceiling lights, and aisle lights. Below are some pictures of the theater with the lights on normal and the lights dimmed. Enjoy!
Overview
The Shipwreck is one of the medium to large maps being implemented into Carbon Combat. It features a large oil tanker stranded in the middle of a remote atol. A few debris from the ship is scattered around the island among palm trees and some splotches of grass. Oil barrels and cargo containers lay around the interior and deck of the tanker. This map is meant for team death-match/death-match style games as there are no clearly defined bases for each team to defend.
Overview
This map is one of the first maps for Carbon Combat that takes full advantage of Unity 3's Beast lightmapping system. It features an abandoned military base with two underground bunkers and several un-launched missiles. The Abandoned Silos map is the smallest map currently being implemented in Carbon Combat and is designed to host small three on three CTF or team death-match style games.
Overview
This is the next generation tank design for Carbon Combat. I created this model as sort of a demonstration for my colleague on Thanksgiving day (for the United States). The tank uses a classic futuristic quad-tread orientation that makes it highly maneuverable over light to moderately rough terrain. The cannon can rotate 360º around (though only about 160º due to the 3rd person camera angle) and approximately 60º up and down. Currently in the demo the tank only fires high-powered lasers. Some planned ammunition for the turret is explosive shells and plasma bolts. The secondary weapon will be a light mounted machine gun.
Overview
This tech demo features a streamlined jet boat designed by Flyman (from Mars Explorer) surrounded by a large expanse of water. Some red and green lit buoys aimlessly drift along in the darkness of the night. Land masses partially obscured from view are visible in the distance.
In the demo there are many new things I have been experimenting with lately. One of more notable is better indie water with fake reflections (for both the sky and boat). Below is a list of some of the features included in this demo:

- Fake indie water reflections
- Realistic water physics
- Random buoy generation on scene start
- Buoy LOD (level of detail) system
- Scrolling minimap (minimap camera does not move)
- Optimized projector headlights to light up buoys
- Dynamic particle wake
